How we work

Why travel with Safa Rihla Umrah

We do not claim to be the biggest. We aim to be the clearest, most careful company you could choose for this journey. Here is what that means in practice.

  • Consultation first, payment second

You speak with a specialist before anything is booked. We confirm real flight and hotel availability, then send a written quote. A deposit is requested only after you approve it.

  • Inclusions and exclusions, line by line

Every quote states what is included and what is not, including flights, hotels, transfers, visa support, meals and ziyarat. Nothing important is left implied.

  • Honest hotel distances

We describe how far each hotel really is from the Haram, which gates and elevators you will use and whether the route is a walk or a shuttle, so you can judge for yourself.

  • Planning for families and seniors

Wheelchair needs, rest days, room configurations, crowd-aware prayer times and gentler itineraries are part of the conversation from the start, not an afterthought.

  • Built around U.S. travelers

U.S. departure airports, prices in dollars, U.S. date formats and support hours published in U.S. time zones. Where hours are shown, they are the hours we actually keep.

  • Guidance you can read before you go

Step-by-step guides to the rites of Umrah, Ihram, packing and Makkah and Madinah orientation, written to be practical and reviewed for accuracy.

How it works

Four calm steps from first question to departure

  1. Step 1: Tell us about your journey

Choose a package or share your departure city, approximate dates, who is traveling and any needs such as mobility support. It takes a few minutes and commits you to nothing.

  2. Step 2: Talk with a specialist

A specialist contacts you to understand your priorities, from hotel distance to budget to pace, and answers your questions about visas, rooms and timing.

  3. Step 3: Receive your written quote

We check live availability and send an itemized quote in USD showing flights, hotels, transfers, inclusions, exclusions and the payment and cancellation terms that apply.

  4. Step 4: Confirm and prepare

When you are ready, you pay the deposit through a secure hosted payment page. We then confirm bookings, guide you through documents and help you prepare for the rites.

Hotel & itinerary transparency

Know exactly where you will stay and how your days will flow

For many pilgrims, especially parents traveling with children and older relatives, the hotel decides the trip. A “short walk” can mean five minutes on a quiet morning or much longer through prayer-time crowds. That is why we describe hotels in plain terms and share the full day-by-day itinerary before you pay anything. If a detail is not yet confirmed, such as a specific flight or hotel, your quote will say so.

  • Realistic walking descriptions, including slopes, crowds and prayer-time conditions
  • Which Haram gates and courtyards are closest, and whether elevators or escalators are involved
  • Walk or shuttle: how you will reach the mosque, and how often a shuttle runs if used
  • Room types and occupancy (double, triple, quad) stated clearly in your quote
  • Day-by-day itinerary showing travel days, rest time and optional ziyarat
  • Anything still “subject to confirmation” is labeled, never implied

Traveler experiences

In pilgrims’ own words

We are a young company and have not yet published traveler reviews. We only share reviews from real pilgrims who have given us permission, so this space will fill over time. Until then, we are happy to answer any question you would ask a past traveler.

Private & custom Umrah

Need different dates, a private trip or a slower pace?

Not every family fits a scheduled departure. Tell us your preferred dates, departure airport, hotel priorities and anyone who needs extra care, and a specialist will design a journey around you.

Questions, answered

Frequently asked questions

How does booking work? Can I book instantly online?

We work consultation-first. You choose a package or share your plans, a specialist confirms real flight and hotel availability, and you receive a written, itemized quote. Nothing is booked and no payment is taken until you approve it. You then pay a deposit through a secure hosted payment page. See Plan My Umrah.

What is included in your Umrah packages?

It depends on the package, which is why every package page and quote lists inclusions and exclusions item by item: flights (for air-inclusive packages), hotels, room type, transfers, visa support, meals and ziyarat. If something is not listed as included, assume it is not, and ask your specialist.

Can you plan for elderly parents or travelers who use a wheelchair?

Yes, and we encourage you to tell us early. We consider hotel proximity, elevators, airport assistance, wheelchair arrangements at the mosques and a gentler pace. Read our guide to Umrah with elderly parents or young children.

What is the difference between Umrah and Hajj?

Hajj is the annual pilgrimage performed on set days in the month of Dhul Hijjah. Umrah, sometimes called the “lesser pilgrimage”, can be performed for most of the year and consists of Ihram, Tawaf, Sa’i and shaving or trimming the hair. Read our step-by-step guide to Umrah.

How close are your hotels to the Haram?

It varies by package, and we describe each hotel honestly: whether it faces the courtyard, is a short or moderate walk, or is served by a shuttle, along with the nearest gates and anything that affects the walk such as slopes or elevator waits. Read Hotel Proximity Explained.

Do U.S. citizens need a visa for Umrah?

Yes. U.S. citizens have generally been eligible to apply for a Saudi tourist eVisa that can be used for Umrah outside the Hajj season, and Umrah permits are booked through the official Nusuk platform. Rules change, so always check the official Saudi eVisa portal before you travel. Visa decisions are made by the Saudi authorities, and no agency can guarantee approval.
